Embroidery Finishing Board, Beech

Board hand-carved from solid beech wood, 18mm thick.
Made to order for Tela Artis with dimensions that best fit embroideries size 12-14x12-14cm.

The board can be toned in the desired color with wood stains, varnishes and paints. 

We recommend toning with acrylic-based varnishes and paints and applying them with a brush.

How to achieve vintage effect:

- First apply dark paint (for example, green, brown or black).

- After drying, cover the surface with two coats of light paint.

- When the paint is completely dry, lightly rub the edges with fine-grit sandpaper - this will create an aged effect.

For finishing embroidery:

- prepare cardboard of desired size, in photo with embroidery size is 15x15cm;

- glue a layer of felt to the cardboard (for example with double-sided tape);

- glue double-sided tape on the back side, remove protective layer;

- place embroidery in the center, fold edges (adhesive layer will allow adjusting and correcting tension);

- fold embroidery corners, fix them with masking tape (for reliability you can stitch the corners).

Fix the embroidery on the board using hot glue. The edge can be decorated with cord, lace or rickrack (zig-zag).

Embroidery finished on the board can be placed on a shelf or hung on a hook.
